Today, Ocarina travels to the enchanted world of “Petit Piaf”, a musical film directed by Gérard Jugnot, released in cinemas in May 2023, which has enchanted audiences thanks to the magical combination of a heartwarming storytelling and a soundtrack by composer Jean-François Berger, with its catchy, moving melodies. In particular, the song “Mon Péi”, which accompanies us throughout the film, is performed with passion by the young actor-singer Soan Arhimann, who is making his big-screen debut after becoming popular on the small screen by winning the French version of “The Voice Kids”.
“Mon Péi” thus becomes the film’s soundtrack, telling the story of La Réunion, an island off the coast of Madagascar, a place steeped in history and passion. This is the setting for the magical adventure of Nelson, an 11-year-old boy who dreams of turning his singing talent into a real career. This desire is fueled by a desire to help his family out of financial difficulties and to support his orphan friends, Mia and Zidane. Music becomes the vehicle that guides them towards a better future.
“Mon Péi” is much more than just a song. It’s a call to our roots, a hymn to the land and its history, a song that takes us on an emotional journey to discover the very essence of La Réunion.
