This year, Ocarina takes Easter by storm… to Ork!
This vacation season, Ocarina is offering a slightly nostalgic promotion: a special 10 euro discount on the Ocarina Player – Yellow!
To activate the discount, simply use the code: MORK25, a fun tribute to the legendary TV series Mork & Mindy, popular between the 1970s and 1980s, in which the main character – the unforgettable Robin Williams – arrives on Earth… aboard an egg!
Mork and Mindy is a 95-episode American TV series, created by Garry Marshall and broadcast between September 1978 and May 1982 on ABC.
The original theme song for Mork & Mindy was composed by Perry Botkin Jr., and the original title is Na-no na-no/Mork & Mindy.
The series’ Italian theme song, which has entered the hearts of young and old alike, also pays tribute to the egg detail with an unforgettable ditty: “My name is Mork, I come from Ork aboard an egg….”
The Italian song manages to convey the spirit of the series in a matter of seconds. It begins with an almost fairytale-like narrative tone: the voice-over explains its absurd starting point – an extraterrestrial from the planet Ork sent to Earth to study human behavior. Right from the start, we enter a surreal, playful atmosphere, but with a hint of melancholy.
The soundtrack is a perfect blend of space sound effects and light melody. There are no real songs with lyrics – no sung stanzas or catchy choruses – but rather a sound accompaniment that seems to come straight out of a vintage spaceship.
There’s no doubt that the alien greeting from the VO: “Nano Nano”, which closes or sometimes interrupts the credits, is a catchphrase that has been heard around the world.
