Piccolo Mondo has been produced in two languages (Italian and French) and includes 10 audio tales from Franco Cosimo Panini’s “Images of Fantasy” series, with texts by Luigi Dal Cin and Giusi Quarenghi. The audio tracks have been organized into two playlists: in the first collection, the protagonists are humans, with their virtues and weaknesses, while in the second collection, the protagonists are animals, magical and symbolic masters of life.
Among the protagonists of this audio journey is Momonoko Taro, the character of one of the best-known tales in Japanese tradition. The child born of a peach, ready to go on the hunt for ogres, to remind children and adults alike of the enormous power of imagination.
The journey is made even more fascinating by original traditional music composed to accompany the narration and musically contextualize the moods. The format chosen is that of classical narration, with particular attention paid to dialogue, thanks also to the contribution of narrative voices with extensive theatrical experience.
The sound design and musical tracks were created by Jacopo Andreini, sound designer, multi-instrumentalist and composer. The music chosen ranges from Venetian chamber music for the Italian tale “Le frittelle di Barba Zucòn”, to music played on traditional Chilean instruments, trutruca and kultrun, for the tale “Il grande Guanaco bianco”; from Mongolian folk music, with the morin khuur (horsehair bowed instrument), for “Come fu che Zarzà lo sciocco divento’ sapiente”, to 18th-century Japanese Gagaku music for “Momonoko Taro”.
The outcome is a fascinating journey of discovery into faraway lands, immersed in the atmosphere of different places.
A fabulous insight into different cultures, ideal for children of all ages, especially those who can’t yet read, from 4 to 6 years old.
